Hi! My name is Michelle Wunder and I am from Harpers Ferry, WV. I am also a recent WVU alumni with a BS in Biology and a minor in Psychology.

My interest in WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades began with knowing a couple of friends who were involved with the program previously. Being able to brigade my senior year gave me a lot of awesome experiences and insight into global healthcare. Going on a brigade has a lot of benefits: you meet great people from our group and in country, engage in meaningful discussions led by Prof. Brewster, and learn a lot about yourself. You gain all this by engaging in the experience properly. This means attending food pantries, participating in clinics, exerting yourself on public health days, and engaging in reflections. Doing all this I learned a lot about serving others, my capabilities, and the culture and healthcare of Panama. This program is truly amazing, and I encourage everyone to apply regardless of major!
