Triage Co-Chair 2026-2027

Hi everyone! My name is Caleb Seol, and I’m a senior majoring in Biology with a minor in General Business from Morgantown, WV.

My first exposure to the Global Medical & Dental Brigades came in high school through a family member. When I entered college, I was hesitant to join the organization at first, but doing so eventually became one of the most memorable experiences in my undergraduate career. My initial motivation for joining this organization was my attraction to the opportunity to help facilitate medical and dental clinics in a rural community. But something I wasn’t expecting to gain was deeper learning of the various socioeconomic factors that contribute to health care. Learning about different communities with a sociological context while helping facilitate medical and dental clinics was an amazing experience that I hope others have the fortune of experiencing. Over the past two years, I have been fortunate enough to have brigaded to Panama twice. During those times, I got to shadow local healthcare professionals and assist in clinics through triage and educational charlas. I also partook in a public-health project that focused on facilitating clean water to local communities. With these activities, the Global Brigades at WVU utilizes a holistic approach to help boost the well being of local under-resourced communities through a long-term commitment. Regardless if you’re a pre-health major or simply someone looking for a new experience, I highly recommend that you apply! Joining Global Brigades at WVU can offer you a unique sociological perspective while also contributing to a greater cause! If this is something you would be interested in and passionate about, please check out our website and the Global Brigades website to learn more about the organization's values. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on the leadership team!
