Hello! My name is Wren King, and I am a senior Anthropology, Women's and Gender Studies, and Geography triple major with a minor in Native American Studies from Morgantown, WV.

Professor Brewster inspired me to get involved in Global Brigades after he spoke about it in his introduction to sociology class my freshman year. I have always been interested in studying abroad, so I went to the information session and was encouraged to apply by the presence of other social science majors on the officer board. While we haven't been able to travel during my time with the organization, I have met so many incredible people and fostered a passion for public health and medical education through our preparation and community outreach. I truly believe that Global Brigades is one of the best ways for a student to start asking essential questions about healthcare and development during their time as an undergraduate. I recommend that everyone apply for this fantastic opportunity, regardless of discipline, as you will grow as a person, advocate, and volunteer.
