Honduras Lindsey

Triage Co-Chair 2024-present

Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey Hinckley and I am a senior majoring in Immunology and Medical Microbiology from Annapolis, MD.

I first learned about brigades in my freshman year biology class, but I was finally encouraged to apply by my classmates in IMMB. I had always known that brigades was something I wanted to be involved in, and my junior year I was finally given the opportunity to brigade to Honduras in the spring of 2024. Throughout the preparation for the brigade and leading up to travel, I became even more excited for our departure. I went into this brigade not really knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Through the relationships and connections I made with community members, brigades staff, and my fellow brigaders, I realized that this was where I was meant to be. The experiences I had in Honduras will benefit me in the future in both my personal and professional life as an aspiring physicians’ assistant. I will use the things that I have learned in country to better treat and understand my patients as a person just like me. I am beyond excited for our future brigades and urge all of you to apply to experience brigade for yourself!
