Hi! My name is Vanessa Mueller, and I am a junior biochemistry major with a minor in Nutrition and Food studies from Germantown, Maryland.

When I first came to WVU I knew I wanted to pursue medicine so when I found out about the WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades at the student organization fair I decided to apply. Even though the 2022 brigade to Panama was canceled I stayed in the organization as I valued the mission statement of Global Brigades, to empower resource-reduced regions of the world. In 2023 I was fortunate to travel to Panama with Brigades. My experiences have solidified my desire to pursue medical school and have given me a feeling of fulfillment through helping others. While Working with brigades I have met people from a variety of cultures and made lasting friendships that I will always remember. I encourage anyone interested to apply!
