Stevie Ball
Alumni Advisory Committee 2023-2024

Hi! My name is Steven Ball, and I am a recent WVU alumnus from Barboursville, West Virginia. I majored in and am currently getting my Masters in Exercise Physiology.
I was first introduced to WVU's chapter Global Brigades chapter by one of my EXPH professors. I had just transferred to WVU and felt that I needed to get more involved with the university, and Global Brigades instantly stood out to me. Following that meeting, I began to research more about the organization. After reading about the holistic model and how WVU's chapter strives to serve both locally and abroad, I knew I wanted to join. Now that I have completed a brigade, I am beyond glad that I decided to apply. My time in Panama taught me skills that I couldn't replicate in any classroom. I was forced to think on my feet and be adaptable in a place unfamiliar to me. Professor Brewster more than prepares all of the brigadiers, so the time spent in the country is not only meant to help underserved communities, but also a place to test your skills and grow as a person. WVU's Global Medical and Dental Brigades strives for excellence in service locally and abroad. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to apply - I promise you won’t regret it after returning from your first Brigade.
